The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg was founded in 1973 and is one of the younger research universities in Germany. The 24-month programme consists of four terms: In the first term (Oct-Jan), the core modules provide a solid foundation of scientific principles in all renewable energy technologies within the framework of lectures, seminars, labs and excursions. The second term (Apr-Jul) and third term (Oct-Jan) are comprised of more ‘practical’ applications of RE (case study, solar lab, etc.) and a more specialised continuation of the core modules. Additionally, an external internship is required. The fourth term (Oct-Mar) is dedicated to the master thesis project.
