The 2025-2026 Government of Canada Scholarship is primarily intended for international students wishing to undertake an academic exchange or a 4- to 6-month research session at a Canadian post-secondary institution. It generally covers round-trip airfare, visa fees, health insurance, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and essential books and supplies, up to an amount between $10,200 and $12,700, depending on the duration and level of study. It does not cover the cost of a full university course or long-term personal expenses, but aims to significantly reduce the costs associated with a short-term academic stay in Canada. Partial assistance is also available to full-time Canadian students in the form of an annual contribution toward tuition fees.
