Research Fellowship : British Council – UK – 2025 – 2026

The British Council 90th Anniversary Research Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded, 12-month postdoctoral fellowship for early-career researchers from countries receiving Official Development Assistance (ODA). Fellows spend 10 months at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh, UK, where they are provided with a dedicated office, an academic mentor, full access to library resources, and a monthly stipend of £2,500 to cover living expenses. The final two months are spent on dissemination and knowledge exchange activities in their home countries, in collaboration with the British Council. The fellowship also includes travel expenses and offers numerous opportunities for networking, seminars, and workshops. This program aims to support humanities and social science research aligned with British Council priorities, including international development, cultural diplomacy, and peacebuilding. Applicants must have completed their doctorate within the last seven years and not have held a tenured position at the university. The application deadline is July 26, 2025.
