Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program

The Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens is an international organization based in Vienna, Austria, founded by Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Heinz Fischer, former President of Austria. Its mission is to promote global leadership and global citizenship in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. The center aims to empower young leaders committed to inclusive sustainable development, including through programs such as the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, which provides young Africans with specialized academic training, mentorship, an international network, and funding for local projects related to the SDGs. The center also organizes workshops, online courses, and accelerator funds to support young changemakers in the Global South, with a focus on global citizenship education, sustainable entrepreneurship, and social impact. It collaborates with international partners such as the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) and RELX to offer concrete opportunities for training, networking and 24/7 funding.
