Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program

The Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens, based in Vienna, Austria, is a quasi-international organization founded in 2018 by Ban Ki-moon and Heinz Fischer, dedicated to promoting global leadership and global citizenship for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. Its main areas of action include empowering youth and women through training programs, mentoring, and funding local projects related to the SDGs, raising awareness and educating on global citizenship, and advocating with policymakers to integrate these issues into public policies.

The Center develops online courses, organizes workshops, and supports innovative initiatives such as the Global Citizen Scholarship Program and the Accelerator Fund, thus fostering an international network of engaged young leaders. Through its activities, it also acts as an actor of informal diplomacy and mediation, in collaboration with academic and international partners, to promote inclusive sustainable development, climate justice, and gender equality.
