
Pittsburgh State University – USA
Pittsburgh State University (PSU) was established in 1903 as the Auxiliary Manual Training Normal School, a branch of the State Normal School of Emporia (now Emporia State University). In 1913, it evolved into a full-fledged four-year institution named Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburgh, commonly referred to as Pittsburgh State. Over the next four decades, the institution broadened its mission beyond teacher training, leading to a name change in 1959 to Kansas State College of Pittsburgh. Finally, on April 21, 1977, it adopted its current name, Pittsburgh State University.
