University of Lethbridge

The university's motto, Fiat Lux (let there be light), refers to the illumination that comes from research and learning. Both undergraduate and graduate students work alongside accomplished researchers in a highly supportive and multidisciplinary environment that is grounded in liberal education. uLethbridge is home to leading research centres and institutes across disciplines, including the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience. Opening in 2019, the new science and academic building is one of the most advanced facilities in Canada. The Dhillon School of Business is one of only five percent of business schools worldwide that is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The financial trading rooms on both campuses are the best equipped academic trading spaces in Western Canada. uLethbridge is the only university in Alberta to offer arts and science co-op work experiences for every major at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The university is renowned in Canada for its education program (with 27 weeks of practicum experience), addictions counselling program and significant art collection. The digital audio arts major is the most comprehensive degree program of its kind in Western Canada. Spanning 500 acres, the picturesque Lethbridge Campus is noted for its signature building, University Hall, which was designed by renowned Canadian architect, Arthur Erickson. The Calgary Campus is located downtown and enables students to advance their careers by taking evening and weekend classes. In 2017, the U of L celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2018, the University of Lethbridge launched SHINE: The Campaign for the University of Lethbridge, the largest campaign in the University's history. The Campaign goals are twofold: to significantly increase engagement opportunities for alumni and community members, and to raise $100 million to propel the entire region forward.
