University of Warwick

Warwick merged with Coventry College of Education in 1979 and Horticulture Research International in 2004. Warwick is consistently cited as amongst the world's most targeted university institutions by employers. Warwick is primarily based on a 290 ha (720 acres) campus on the outskirts of Coventry, with a satellite campus in Wellesbourne and a central London base at the Shard. It is organised into four faculties—Arts, Medicine, Science and Social Sciences—within which there are 32 departments. As of 2015, Warwick has around 25,600 full-time students and 2,400 academic and research staff. It had a consolidated income of £591.0 million in 2016/17, of which £120.3 million was from research grants and contracts. Warwick Arts Centre, a multi-venue arts complex in the university's main campus, is the largest venue of its kind in the UK outside London. Warwick consistently ranks in the top five of most major domestic rankings of British universities. Warwick is ranked 7th in the UK for its research, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 by GPA. A highly selective institution, Warwick has an average intake of 5,026 undergraduates out of 37,268 applicants yielding 7.4 applicants per place. In 2017, Warwick was named as the university with the joint second highest graduate employment rate of any UK university (along with St Andrews), with 97.7 per cent of its graduates in work or further study three and a half years after graduation. The University of Warwick was the youngest university to be ranked among the top 40 institutions in the world according to the yearly QS World University Rankings for 2018, and has also been ranked at 20th in the world (again in 2018) in terms of reputation with employers, placing higher than several American Ivy League universities, including Princeton University, Cornell and Penn.Warwick students can study abroad for a semester or a year and may obtain a double degree awarded by both partners which include NYU, Columbia, McGill, Cornell, UC Berkeley, HKU, Peking University and Sciences Po Paris.
