University of Winnipeg

University of Winnipeg is a Canadian public university located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba. The university primarily offers undergraduate programs, although some graduate programs and a continuing education program exist. It was founded in 1938 as a result of the merger of College of Manitoba (founded in 1871), Yellow College (founded in 1875) and Wesley College (founded in 1888) to form United College (Uni), an affiliated college of the University of Manitoba. It became an independent university under its current name in 1967. The University of Winnipeg has a secondary school, the University of Winnipeg Collegiate (the University of Winnipeg College Institute). The University of Winnipeg has been ranked in Maclean’s by its alumni as one of Canada’s top ten universities for their academic experiences.
