Principal activities: - Organising international events and conferences (uaces.org/krakow) - Providing funding for our members' research activities (uaces.org/funding) - Collaboration on the publication of books and journals, including JCMS: the leading journal in the field of European Integration (uaces.org/publications) - Supporting a range of Collaborative Research Networks (uaces.org/funding/CRN) Our objective is to advance education for the public benefit through the promotion of teaching and research in contemporary European Studies. The academic association for Contemporary European Studies, is a membership organisation for academics, students and practitioners in all fields of contemporary European studies and the study of the European Union. Its initialism derives from its previous name, "the University Association for Contemporary European Studies", which was amended when it registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 1 December 2015. It is widely known as the editor and disseminator of the Journal on Common Market Studies, a leading peer-reviewed academic journal in the field of European integration studies. Founded in 1967, the university association celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. The association's Honorary President is Professor Dame Helen Wallace DBE CMG, and its notable patrons include Sir Stephen Wall and Paul Adamson OBE AcSS, amongst others. The University Association for Contemporary European Studies is the global membership organisation for academics, students and practitioners who are interested in all aspects of Europe and the European Union. The University Association for Contemporary European Studies is a Registered Charity in England and Wales (no. 1163773). The object of the Association is to advance education for the public benefit through the promotion of teaching and research in contemporary European Studies.
