One of China’s premier institutions, Tsinghua University is known for its academic excellence and international partnerships.
Originally established in 1911 by an agreement between the Qing Emperor and the US government to prepare Chinese students to study in the US, the school has long served as a bridge between the East and the West.
Tsinghua University is also the alma mater of some of China’s most important leaders, including the current and former Presidents, Xi Jinping and Hu Jintao; the former Chairman of the National People’s Congress, Wu Bangguo; the former Premier Zhu Rongji; and the former Vice Premier Huang Ju.
